About Aeronautical Engineering Student’s Association :

ASTRA stands for Aeronautical Engineering Students Technical Research Association. Aeronautical Engineering Students Technical Research Association (ASTRA) is a students forum of the Department of Aeronautical Engineering, Annasaheb Dange College of Engineering and Technology, Ashta which was incepted in the year 2014, with the objectives of promoting the technical research and overall development of its members. The students forum is bounded by rich values of academic integrity and teamwork. The activities of the forum are well planned and guided by the governing bodies comprising The Head of the Department, Faculty Members and Student Representatives.

To be a technical association striving for the overall development of the students of Aeronautical Engineering Department

The Mission :

ASTRA’s Mission is to provide its members with the opportunities and resources necessary to develop and advance in their career. To effectuate individuals who would thrive themselves in the technological development in Aero domain and also be self reliant to follow their interests, for the development and progress of society and their individual career.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Governing Council

  • Meets Monthly once on Last working Saturday – To pass the activities put forward by AC and EC
  • Ensures smooth conduct of forum activities in coordination with college activities
  • Addresses and Grievances raised by the student members and takes appropriate action.

Advisory Council

  • Meets every alternative Saturday – To identify the potential technical areas where the student members need to be trained.
  • Takes a role in organizing the forum activities and provides support in regarding the expert members

Executive Committee

  • Meets every alternative Saturdays – To chart out the activities that are to be heldd
  • Coordinates with all student members and gets their views on the events.
  • Maintain the Bill of Material for all the purchases
  • Proposes the activities in the every third week to the GCC

Norms for Contesting in Elections

  • The student should have taken the regular admission into the academic year by paying the due fee.
  • The student should not have any active backlogs in the previous semester/year.
  • The CGPA of the student should be more than 7.00 till the previous year.
  • The students should have maintained the attendance percentage of above 75% in the previous year.

Norms for Contesting in Elections

  • The Date of Elections will be decided by the Governing Council (GC) within two weeks of the starting of the Academic Year.
  • The Nomination for the posts according to the election policies framed by the GC should be submitted to the Department Forum In-charge before 4 Days from the date of election.
  • Elections will be conducted only after the academic hours and results will be declared on the consecutive day after the academic hours.
  • Strict Discipline should be maintained by all the members and contestants during the process of election
