Research Ethics Committee (REC)

The Research Ethics Committee (REC) is constituted by the Academic Council to promote ethical research practices and create awareness about research ethics among faculty members, researchers, and students of the institute. The committee ensures that all research activities are conducted in accordance with established ethical standards, institutional policies, and professional integrity.

Tasks of Ethics Committee

  • To provide advice and guidance to the institute faculty members on all matters pertaining to academic research ethics.
  • To advise the Academic Council on compliance with the ‘Code of Ethics in Academic Research’ of the various academic activities at the institute.
  • To provide guidance and academic support to students on ethical issues in respect of teaching, research and other academic activities.
  • To confirm to external parties on behalf of the institute compliance with ethical standards in respect of research projects undertaken.
  • To advise the Academic Council of any policies that may be required in relation to accepting funds from particular sponsors of research.
  • To act as an investigative/consultative body for any disputed matter concerning research ethics and conduct.
