Visit to NDE 2023

Attended the Conference & Exhibition on Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) and Enabling Technologies, held from 7th to 9th December 2023 at NAT, Pune. The event provided valuable exposure to advanced inspection, testing, and monitoring techniques used for evaluating the structural integrity of critical engineering systems without causing damage. It was a great opportunity to learn about the latest developments and industry practices in NDE technologies and their applications in aerospace, mechanical, and structural engineering. ???? Key learning highlights: • Fundamentals and applications of Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) • Advanced NDT methods such as Ultrasonic Testing, Radiography, Eddy Current Testing, and Thermography • Role of NDE in structural integrity assessment, defect detection, and life-cycle management • Emerging enabling technologies supporting NDE and Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) • Industry use cases in aerospace structures, composites, and critical components The conference sessions and exhibition helped me understand how inspection and evaluation techniques complement design, analysis, and simulation, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance in engineering systems. Grateful for the opportunity to interact with industry professionals, researchers, and experts, and to gain insights into real-world challenges and innovations in the field of NDE and structural assessment.
